Medi Bing Cha is a smaller variety of shou pu’er, known for its damp storage conditions. The accelerated ripening process yields a mellower, earthy tea. Sometimes this Yunnan-processed variety can have creamy notes. It is a common gift at weddings, sometimes in smaller cakes, bings, or sometimes the larger Chi Tse variety. Drink in celebration, for immediate grounding, or to dampen the surrounding din.
